How to Get Rid of Dry Skin in Winters?

Dry skin is a very common problem in winters. During winters the skin loses its moisture and the lack of moisture leads to drying of skin. Dry skin leads to the visible roughness on the skin and causes itching of skin. Highly rough skin could also turn red in color and lead to painful rashes.

Dry skin generally happens in winters because the humidity in the air is comparatively low during winters.

However, dry skin in winters can be easily cured by following the below listed methods:

Mustard oil:

The mustard oil helps in locking the moisture of skin and prevents it from drying.

  • Take about 10 drops of Mustard Oil.
  • Apply Mustard oil to the affected area, immediately after taking a bath.

Moisturizer:

A good moisturizer is your best companion for winters. A moisturizer containing vitamin E is the best suitable for skin.

  • You can apply moisturizer every time you wash your hands or the affected area.
  • 10-15 drops of moisturizer are recommended for every use.

Water:

A healthy skin is dependent on the amount of water intake. Water not only keeps your skin hydrated, but also brings back the lost glow.

  • Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water every day.
  • Drinking water helps in preventing many types of diseases.

Cocoa Butter Cream:

Regularly apply Cocoa Butter Cream on the affected area. It reduces the dryness and provides required moisture to the skin. You can find many creams in the market containing cocoa butter. It is also helpful in reducing stretch marks.

Mild warm water:

During winters we carve for a hot water bath, but it generally makes the skin drier by extracting its moisture. So only a mild water bath is suggested to cure the dry skin problem.

Coconut Oil:

Coconut Oil is a handy way of treating the dry skin. Applying coconut oil on the affected area and keeping it over night not only helps in curing dry skin, but also helps in providing a flawless skin.

Proper Diet:

Rough and itchy skin can be caused due to inclusion of junk food in diet. A proper diet including juices and leafy vegetables provides a soft and glowing skin.

Honey:

Applying honey mixed with rose water also is a great pack for lowering the skin dryness.

  • Take 4 drops of honey in a bowl.
  • Mix it with 5-6 drops of rose water.
  • Apply for 15-20 minutes and wash away with warm water.

Exposure:

Try not to expose the affected area direct in chilling breeze, it can worsen the situation. Wear Scarves and warm clothes to cover the affected area.

Milk:

Cleaning the skin with milk twice a day makes it naturally moisturized and increases the ability to retain moisture.

Olive oil:

Olive oil can cure the rashes formed on the skin due to excessive dryness.

  • Take 12 -14 drops of olive oil.
  • Take 10 grams of brown sugar and 5 drops of honey.
  • Mix and apply them as a scrub on the affected area.
  • Wash away after 5 – 10 Minutes and apply moisturizer.

Almond Oil

Take few Drops of Almond oil and rub it on the affected area. It soothes the skin and also makes the skin glowing.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a boon in many types of skin problems. It also helps in soothing the itching on dry skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera in any form is a blessing for all the skin types. It can be applied directly on the skin or else can be eaten in raw form.

  • Take a strand of Aloe Vera from Aloe Vera plant.
  • Peel it nicely with a knife so as to extract the inside Aloe Gel.
  • This Gel can be directly applied on the affected area.
  • Either gel can be swallowed with Warm Water.

Aloe Vera has natural benefits of improving digestion and providing glowing and flawless skin. It is also used in many skin products.

Cosmetics

Excessive use of cosmetic products can make the situation worse. Hence, during winters try to reduce the use of such products near the affected area.

Tea/Coffee/Alcohol

Reduce the use of drinks containing caffeine and alcohol. These drinks are highly harmful to skin and can make the situation even worse.

Cleanliness

Maintain proper cleanliness of the affected area. You can also apply cleanser on the skin and wash it two times a day and also apply a moisturizer after cleaning.

Coconut Water

Regular intake of water of one coconut helps in healing all kinds of skin problems and also helps in keeping it soft.
