How to Heal Gum Disease with Home Remedies

Gum disease or gingivitis often due to the persistent bad breath, swollen gums, receding gums, loose teeth and bleeding gums. Its advance stage is known as Periodontitis and Pyorrhea. Causes of Gingivitis:

The primary reason of gum disease or gingivitis is a poor oral hygiene, which build up plaque bacteria under the gums and in between the gap of teeths. There are many reasons of building up the plaque bacteria into the gums such as smoking, genetic predisposition, hormonal changes, diabetes, stress and certain medications.

If you are also having gingivitis and want to get a quick relief from the pain, then you need to follow some Home Remedies to heal gum disease.

Lukewarm water and Salt: get a glass of lukewarm water, add a teaspoon salt and mix, rinse your mouth with this water, it will give you a quick relief from the pain and also cleanse the area of gingivitis. This process is needed to repeat three to more times in a day to keep your mouth clean.

Hydrogen Peroxide: it is a highly anti-bacterial agent which will provide you a bacteria free mouth and also give your gums strength to fight with a gum-disease. And it will also help you to whiten teeths.

  • With water: you can equally add the amount of hydrogen peroxide and water into a glass and rinse your mouth with this solution, you will get a bacteria free mouth soon. Repeat this process every day until you get satisfactory results.
  • Baking soda and Hydrogen Peroxide: mix hydrogen peroxide with the same amount of baking soda and make a fine paste, brush your teeth and clean the gums with this paste slowly, and finally rinse your mouth with water, repeat this remedy three times in a week.
  • Clove oil paste and Hydrogen Peroxide: another mixture you will get by mixing with it with the clove oil paste, brush your gums and teeth with this paste gently, repeat this as needed.

Aloe Vera Gel:

Aloe Vera is an anti- inflammatory and has healing properties, so, it’s been found to be more beneficial in the treatment of gingivitis. Fresh Aloe Vera gel provides a powerful gum disease healing treatment at home and prevents from bad breath as well as heals wounded gums.

  • Get a fresh Aloe Vera gel, massage on your gums gently, leave it for half an hour, and rinse with lukewarm water, repeat this process four to five or more times in a day as needed.
  • You can also put some Aloe Vera gel into your mouth, and spit it out, repeat it several times in a day as required.
  • You also can intake two teaspoon Aloe Vera juice regularly.

Oil Pulling: oil pulling is an Ayurvadic traditional method for oral care which helps in getting bacteria free gums, reduce plaque, and prevent from the bad breath. It provides an overall care as it removes bacteria and provides hygienic mouth as well as treating gum disease naturally.

  • Get tablespoon sesame oil in your mouth, swish it around your gums and spit it off after fifteen minutes when it turns milky and rinse with lukewarm water. You can repeat this treatment daily for a month.
  • You can also repeat the procedure with coconut oil for better results.

Tea tree Oil:

This oil has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to reduce the gum disease, though it is not ant bacterial, so it’s not helpful to remove plaque from the mouth. You can simply drop some drops of tea tree oil on the paste and brush your teeth gently, which will help you in reducing the gingivitis as well as bleeding from the gums. You can also buy a paste with tea tree oil content. You can use it for brushing for several weeks until your gingivitis gets cured.

Myrrh – tincture: myrrh tincture is an antibacterial, antiseptic and astringent that is often recommended for sore gums.

  • Mix 10 drops into a glass of lukewarm water and rinse your mouth to clean the gums, repeats this process twice a day and on a regular basis for several weeks until your gums not gets cured.
